Royal Challengers Bangalore received a massive boost ahead of the all-important clash against Chennai Super Kings with star batsman AB de Villiers declared fit. De Villiers had missed RCB's last two games due to a viral fever but has recovered in time for this massive clash as his side looks to revive their campaign with a few wins.

The 34-year-old is RCB's second highest run-getter this season with 280 runs at an average of 56. He top-scored for his side when they faced CSK in Bangalore earlier this season. He is likely to replace wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock who has flown back home to attend a wedding.

"AB is back fit, Quinton is away from this game. Quinton has returned home for a wedding so he is unavailable for this match so probably it's an easy decision for us to make," head coach Daniel Vettori said on Friday (May 4).

Vettori also confirmed that de Kock will be joining the squad ahead of RCB's next clash against table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.
